Normand Dostie

Normand Dostie, of Lewiston, Maine, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on July 25, 1939, to Roland and Jeanette Dostie in St. Methode, Quebec, on a family farm. He moved to Lewiston Maine in 1960, where he resided for the next 64 years.

Normand was a man of strong work ethic, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family. He cherished his loving partnership with his wife, Henriette (deceased) whom he married on July 1st, 1963.

He found immense joy in his role as father to his daughters, Linda and Brigitte, and grandfather to Chantal, Jaidan, and Ava.

He was a man of strong faith in Jesus Christ, where he found comfort, strength and joy throughout his life. He now rests peacefully with God, reunited with his beloved wife.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved being outdoors, whether it was working in his yard, enjoying the fresh air, the view and sunshine on his back deck. In the winter months, he especially enjoyed the ritual of cutting and stacking wood, and then the cozy evenings spent building fires in his woodstove.

For over 50 years, Normand dedicated his life to the sheetrock and drywall trade, leaving a lasting impact on the Lewiston community. He was a passionate teacher, sharing his expertise with many aspiring tradespeople. Normand found great satisfaction in mentoring others, passing on the knowledge and skills that were integral to his own life. He was also always quick to lend a hand and help others.

He leaves behind his daughters: Linda Jordan and her husband Shaun Fecteau, Brigitte Schlosser and her husband Jason Schlosser; and his grandchildren: Chantal Dixon and her husband Scott Dixon, Jaidan Schlosser, and Ava Schlosser. Normand is also survived by his siblings:

A celebration of life is planned at Pathway Vineyard 12 Foss Rd Lewiston, Maine 04240 on Saturday January 25th at 1pm.
