

A graduate of Middlebury College and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, his life's passions were writing poetry, teaching children, and exploring the great outdoors.
He is pre-deceased by his parents: Paul L. Butler, Jr. and Dorothy W. Butler of Leicester, Massachusetts. He is survived by his brother: Eugene Butler and his wife Judy of Paxton, Massachusetts; and three children: David Butler and his wife Martha of Baltimore, Maryland, Danielle (Butler) Burian and her husband Michael of Lewiston, Maine, and Chanterelle (Butler) Atkins and her husband Kevin of Wiscasset, Maine.
A private celebration of life will be held at Moosehead Lake in Maine. Condolences may be shared with the family through AdvantagePortland.com.
