Robert B. Hodgkin Sr.

He was born in Gorham, ME on December 17, 1940 a son of the late Herman P & Emma Elizabeth (Gemery) Hodgkin. Bob was a lifelong resident of the Portland area, including Gorham and Westbrook.

He went on to join the Navy at age 17, between 1957 and 1963. While serving in Japan during the Vietnam Conflict he flew P2V Bombers, also called sub chasers of the coast of Vietnam. 

Bob worked in the plumbing industry for over 40 years after returning from war for Union 716 out of Augusta and retired with the title of Master Plumber.

He enjoyed reading, his favorites were westerns and the Bible and he also kept his mind sharp doing crossword puzzles. One of his favorite things to do, besides puttering around the house, was spoiling his grandchildren. He will also be remembered for his cooking, some of his specialties were his American Chop Suey and his Italian Spaghetti Sauce.

Besides his wife of fifty years Yvonne, he leaves his daughter Tanya Hodgkin and her fiancee WIlliam Wolfe of Margate, FL and his son Robert B. Hodgkin Jr. and his wife Becky of South Casco, ME as well as his three grandchildren Stephanie Lundy and her husband Gordon of Portland, Nicholas Hodgkin of Gorham and Mackenzie Wolfe of Margate, FL. He also leaves his three great granddaughters Olivia, Sarah and Alisha Lundy all of Portland, his brother Richard Hodgkin and his sister Rose Harriman, both of Gorham and several nieces and nephews. She was also the father of the late Sherri-Jo Hodgkin who passed away in 2010.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of gathering this Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 11 am – 12 pm at the White Memorial Church, 97 Allen Ave., Portland followed by a memorial service at 12 pm at the church, officiated by Pastor Greg Carter.
