Ruth Barry

Ruth E Barry of Wells passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, at Avita of Wells where she had been enjoying the last years of her life. Ruth was born on March 7, 1924, in Westford, MA, the daughter of Willard F. and Edna (Sargent) Moore. Ruth is predeceased by her first husband Walter Parfitt, her parents, her second husband, Richard Barry, as well as her brother, Willard “Brother” Moore and her sister, Esther “Essie” Brosius. She is survived by her niece Ruth (Brosius) Farnsworth, nephew Butch Barry and too many other nieces and nephews to list.

Ruth graduated from Westford Academy and after high school, Ruth married Walter but lost him to the war. Later she married Richard and worked for 32 years at Johns Manville in Nashua, NH which she loved! Folks can remember how she and Dick enjoyed playing cards with Charlie and Hazel Barry; being “out to camp” just a little ways away from Irene’s (Uncle Dick’s siste’s) camp enjoying the lake…

Later, Ruth and her sister both sold their homes and moved to Maine to be close to Essie’s children and they moved in together. They were the best of roommates and companions, always caring for each other and looking after each other.

Ruth enjoyed reading, especially Danielle Steele novels, and making crafts with plastic canvas. She would sell her crafts in fairs or give them as gifts. Recently, she became interested in jig saw puzzles and you could find her at the puzzle table almost every day.

Ruth will always be remembered with a smile on her face.

A graveside gathering will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 10:30 at Fairview Cemetery, Main St., Westford, MA 01886

Luncheon to follow at Longhorn steakhouse in Nashua, NH at 11:30.

Relatives and Friends are welcome to attend both.
