William E. Darling

William E. Darling Senior 87 of Portland Maine died December 10, 2020 at Cape memory in Cape Elizabeth Maine. He was predeceased by his father Frank Darling and his mother Ada Darling of Portland also two brothers Frank Darling and Steve Darling. He was a fire fighter starting as a fireman on the fire boat in Portland Harbor moving on to Engine 8 in Portland. After 11 years and three times hospitalized for smoke inhalation he was urged by his family to retire from the fire station so he started his own business Cape Cleaning Services which he ran for 40 years until retirement.

He was an avid golfer belonging to Willow Dale then to Val Halla for many years. He was a huge Patriots fan. He enjoyed traveling fishing and hunting loved being with family especially his grand children and great grand children. He leaves behind his son William Daring Jr. and his wife Katherine of Raymond Maine, daughters Linda Ferraro of Sarasota Florida, Joanne Intrieri and her husband Rick and Julie Wright and her husband Steve of Windham Maine and son Robert Darling of Sarasota Florida also five grand children Craig Tilton, Leanne Tilton, Michael Wright, Matthew Wright and Olivia Wright. Also seven great grandchildren, Brianna Tilton, Gabriella Wright, Carter Wright, Hunter Wright, Cameron Young, Maddox Wright and Cody Young.

We are having a celebration of life for him on June 5 at 12 o’clock at 9 Karen Ave Windham, Maine. A private family graveside burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Portland fire Department.
