

Aaron “Skip” Langdon Peterson, Jr., 62, of Raleigh went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 23, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. Skip was born on February 8, 1950 in Rocky Mount to Aaron Langdon Peterson, Sr. and Mabel Peterson.
Skip graduated from Millbrook High School and attended Elon College. He worked in the food service industry; first in sales at WB Bunn and Company, then 16 years as the manager of the Hudson Belk’s Capitol Room both downtown and at Crabtree Valley Mall. He later worked as a Food Broker for Associated Food Services. He was a hard worker and loved what he did. Skip was an active member of Greystone Baptist Church and the Grace Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Skip is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda Weeks Peterson; father Aaron Langdon Peterson, Sr.; two brothers, Bob (Nancy) Peterson and David Peterson; Brother-in-law, Dan (Terry) Queen; Sister-in-law, Kim (GW) Braxton; Mother-in-law, Virginia H. Weeks; Nephews, Brian Queen, Jason Queen, Matt Queen, Rob Peterson and Ryan Peterson; Niece, Christine Peterson; Great-nephew, Brayden Peterson and Great-niece, Avery Queen. He was predeceased by his mother, Mabel B. Peterson and his sister, Debbie P. Queen.
His family would like to thank the staff at UNC Cancer Hospital for their excellent care, especially Dr. Stephanie Sarantopoulous and Amber Essenmacher.
A Celebration of Skip’s life will be held Monday August 27, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Greystone Baptist Church, 7509 Lead Mine Road Raleigh, NC 27615. His family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-2:30, prior to the service.
The family requests that donations be made to Greystone Baptist Church.
