He is survived by his loving wife, of sixty years, Pam M. Gentry, sons; Albert P. Gentry, Jr. and wife, Liz, Mark Gentry and wife, Tammy, daughters; Sherri Haven and husband, Randy, Debra A. Sims and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Alex and wife, Kim, Daniel, Christopher, Brooke, Joshua, Nicholas, Katie, Hannah, Danielle, Taylor, Alexa, and Gabby.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Rd., Raleigh. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium with military honors. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in his memory to Transitions Life Care or Rex Cancer Center.
