Born in Troy, New York, Aaron lived a life of love, loyalty, and commitment. He loved and missed his older sister Carol and his mother Marian, who died in 1977. His father Leo (“Beebs”) lived a long and healthy life, and Aaron aspired to do the same. Until very recently, he enjoyed riding his bike and taking daily walks near the water.
Above all else, Aaron loved his family and close friends. He cared for his wife, Doris Ann Price – his love and best friend for and beyond their 49+ years together–throughout her years-long journey with metastatic breast cancer. He cherished his children. Aaron is survived by son Roger and daughter Sharon (James Franklin). In recent years, he took great joy in getting to know and spending time with Mairead and Niamh, his step-granddaughters.
Although he worked for IBM for decades, Aaron rarely – if ever – spoke of work. But he relished his early work in computer programming, describing it as “part scientist, part magician.” He applied that love of problem solving to everything he did. A self-taught and adept handyman, he reveled in fixing things around the house and working in the yard, going (far!) out of his way to help others, too.
Aaron’s funeral will be this Tuesday, December 27, at 1pm. It will be a graveside service at the Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery at 450 N State St, Raleigh North Carolina 27601.
