

Alfred Morton Weinstein died Friday, Sept. 9. While he will be greatly missed, his family and close friends know that a piece of him will live on with them, especially his genuine warmth and quick wit.
Mr. Weinstein was born in Raleigh Sept. 7, 1931, the son of Harry and Laura Ellis Weinstein. He attended Boylan Heights Elementary and Hugh Morson High School. He graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a most devoted Tarheel fan, attending many football and basketball games.
He later attended Georgia State and UNC to earn his CPA degree. He worked both with large firms and as an independent practitioner.
He served on the Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery board as treasurer for 26 years and was a passionate member of Raleigh Sports Club and The Old Raleigh Boys.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday September 11, at Temple Beth Or, 5315 Creedmoor Road, with burial to follow in Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery.
He and his wife, Harriette Schreiber Weinstein, had just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary and his 85th birthday on Sept. 7 this year.
He is survived his three dear daughters, Jolie (Bill) Skinner of Raleigh; Anita (Don) Lustig of Berkeley Lake, GA, and Lynette (Bill) Morrissett of Charlotte.
He is also survived by his much loved grandchildren. They are Matthew (Haley) Lustig of Athens, GA; Molly Lustig, of Macon, GA; Laura Skinner (and fiancé Sam Mason) of Raleigh, John Skinner of Denton, TX; Will Morrissett of Charlotte; Kate Morrissett of Boston, MA; and Ned Morrissett of Davidson, NC.
