They visited Zion Park, Yellowstone Park, Mt. Rushmore, and the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota. Another time, they made a trip driving to Detroit, Mich., then into Canada to Niagara Falls, on to Maine, and returning home after about three weeks. They drove to all of Joe’s ship reunions since the one in San Diego; 2001 Jacksonville, Fla., 2002 St. Louis, Mo., 2003 Myrtle Beach, S.C., 2004 Andover, Mass., 2005 Harrisburg, Pa., 2006 Albuquerque, N.M., 2007 Dayton, Ohio, and 2008 Charleston, S.C.
