Amanda means “worthy of love”. She was deeply loved by her family and by our Lord, Jesus Christ. We rejoice that she is now experiencing first hand the depth of God’s love for her.
Throughout her life, Amanda lived in a variety of places including West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, California, Utah, and Idaho. She used this experience as a way of connecting with people and encountering how wide and wonderful God’s world could be.
Amanda’s love for nature drew her outdoors at every opportunity. She found peace in the woods, joy in wildflowers, and inspiration in the ocean waves. Amanda viewed nature and art as a gift from God, and she shared her love for them with all who knew her.
But perhaps her most extraordinary gift was the way she cared for others. Amanda was a devoted caregiver, offering her time, patience, and tenderness to children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. She met each person with dignity and respect, and her gentle spirit gave comfort and strength to those who needed it most. For her, caregiving was never a duty - it was an extension of her love. Though her journey has ended too soon, her legacy lives on in the lives of those she touched.
She is survived by her parents, Jack and Margie Boor, her sisters, Carla Smith and Becki Green, her brothers-in-law, Paul Smith and Scott Green, and her nieces and nephews, Matti Smith, Grace and Trent Brown, Paul and Tori Smith, Ada Green, and Ethan Green. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
A private graveside service will be held in the fall. In honor of Amanda, the family invites those who wish to contribute in her memory to choose one of the following non profits.
