Amy Lee Frady, of Raleigh, NC, passed away unexpectedly at her home on March 18, 2026.
Born on October 29, 1968, she was the daughter of the late Oliver V. Frady III and Carolyn Jones Frady. Amy was deeply devoted to her family. If you ever met her, you would certainly remember her—she had a special way of learning something about everyone she met and never forgetting it. She always had a smile on her face and a laugh to share.
Amy was a lifelong resident of Raleigh. She grew up spending time at Kerr Lake, where she enjoyed boating, water skiing, and camping with family and friends. From a young age, she loved bowling and earned numerous trophies in her age group. Later, while working with her father at Oliver’s Billiards and Tavern, she developed a talent for playing pool, earning many accolades in both her age group and the ladies’ division. She could truly run the table.
During her time at the tavern, Amy also learned bartending and became known for remembering everyone’s favorite drink before they even sat down. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and at ease. She continued her career in retail, working at CosmoProf, Walgreens, and later Home Depot. No matter where she worked, she had a unique knack for remembering people and understanding their needs—she never met a stranger.
Amy especially cherished time spent with her family, particularly attending her nephew’s and niece’s activities. She was always present, cheering them on and sharing in their lives.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Carolyn Frady. She is survived by her sister, Karen Frady DeLong, and her husband, David DeLong, of Raleigh; her nephew, Hunter Lee DeLong and his wife, Anna, of Broadway, NC; her niece, Carlee DeLong Smith and her husband, Keaton, of Winterville, NC; and her great-nephew and great-nieces, Jackson DeLong, Sawyer Smith, and Harper DeLong. She is also survived by her aunt, Barbara Cottle; her uncle, Kenny Jones, and his wife, Sherry; as well as many cousins and dear, close friends.
Amy’s personality was as big as her smile—she will be remembered for both.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612.
