Aryeh was not only a devoted son to Haiem and Naima but also assumed a responsible role as the head of household and eldest among his 6 siblings—Khatoon (deceased), Badour, Aniez, Moshe, Gladys, and Salem. Early in life, he embraced the duty of ensuring his siblings' well being, education, and marriages.
In his 70 years of marriage, Aryeh was a pillar of love and support to Mahin. As a father, he leaves behind a legacy cherished by his sons and daughters-in-law, Morris and Elizabeth Israelnaim; Mahyar and Kathy Naim. His role as Grandpa and Great-grandfather brought joy to the lives of Rebecca, Jilla, Ariel, Nicole, Abby, Liam, Ryan, and Isaac.
Aryeh's professional journey commenced at the age of 14 with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in Abadan. Over 34 years, he honed his skills as an accountant, furthering his training in England. Remarkably, he ascended to the esteemed position of Chief Financial Officer for the NIOC oil field region—an achievement particularly rare for a Jewish individual. In the 1970s, Aryeh took on the role of Head of the Jewish Agency in Abadan, aiding local Jews in their immigration to Israel.
In the months leading up to the Iranian Revolution, Aryeh, steadfast in his principles, chose retirement over participation in the worker strike. Departing just before the Iran-Iraq war, he left Iran with his wife, mother, and mother-in-law. In America, Aryeh embraced the United States as his home, proudly attaining citizenship in the late-1980’s.
Family and faith were cornerstones in Aryeh’s life. Aryeh continued to support his Jewish heritage and commitment to his faith as a member of the congregation of Sha’arei Israel - Chabad of Raleigh. Aryeh cherished moments with his family, especially delighting in the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Aryeh's selflessness shone brightly. He placed his family's happiness and well-being above all, never seeking anything in return. Today, we celebrate a life rich in love, devotion, and enduring legacy.
