Bracha Zaviv Rosenberg died at home on Friday, July 5, 2013, in Raleigh, NC. She was born on July 3, 1952, in Tel Aviv, Israel. Bracha earned a master’s degree in biochemistry at Hebrew University, Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem. She served in an intelligence unit in the Israel Defense Force.
Since moving to Raleigh in 1984, she worked as a chemist at several laboratories in RTP before working full time with her husband at MarketPlace-Solutions.com, where she quickly mastered the skills necessary to be a successful entrepreneur.
Bracha was a devoted partner of the man that she married 33 years ago, and she was an extraordinary role model for her dearly loved children. Her many friends will remember her abundant energy, kind and generous spirit, strength, honesty, laughter, and readiness for adventure.
Bracha was a true “woman of valor.” She took pride in her Jewish heritage and was an active member of Congregation Sha’arei Israel in Raleigh. The family wants to thank all of those in the Jewish community who have been helpful in countless ways over the years.
Bracha was preceded in death by her father, Sa’adiya Zaviv. She is survived by her mother, Naomi Hizmi Zaviv, and sister, Mira Shalev, both in Tel Aviv, Israel; her husband, Steven Rosenberg; a daughter, Rachel Naomi Rosenberg of Washington, DC; and a son, Daniel David Rosenberg, currently living in Raleigh.
The family also wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Michele Hensley, Dr. John Soper and the gynecological oncology team at UNC Hospital, and Lisa Ginsburg and the team of Hospice of Wake County.
A funeral service for Bracha will be held at Sunday, July 7 at 10 a.m., at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Rd. The graveside service and burial at the Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery will follow.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations, in memory of Bracha Rosenberg, to the Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary, 8210 Creedmoor Rd., Suite 104, Raleigh, NC 27613.
