She was born January 30, 1959 in Dunn, NC a daughter of the late Hubert Williford and Annelies Williford Tyndall.
She was predeceased by her brother Pete Williford.
Carol is survived by her two daughters: Heather Worrell and Husband Jamie, and Kristen Shelton, her sister Marie W. Johnson, her step father Billy Ray Tyndall, her nephew Charlie Harper and wife Laura and sons, and her extended family in Germany. She was called Grandma by her four grandchildren: Courtney, Justin, McKenzie and Katie.
You could always count on Carol when you needed a helping hand. She had a cleaning, organizing and just getting stuff done way about her. Much of her life was spent working at Shelton’s Furniture where she was able to use her charismatic personality and charm with customers. She never knew a Stranger! She also spent a great deal of time as a caretaker of people and animals. She was well known for her southern cooking. Can’t nobody fry a pork chop like Carol Shelton. She had a love for the outdoors that includes the beach, the lake, gardening and family cookouts. Speaking of family she adored her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them any chance she got.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff in the MICU Unit at Wake Med Hospital.
A Celebration of life will be held 3 pm Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 1701 E. Millbrook Rd. Raleigh, NC 27609. Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association at http://www.lungnc.org/ or to Wake County SPCA 200 Petfinder Ln, Raleigh, and NC 27603.
