Carolyn Young Sims, 77, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her home in Raleigh. Born July 31, 1935 to the late Alexander Rankin Young and Ella Lee Black Young, she has resided in Raleigh since 1965. Carolyn was a member and longtime librarian at Millbrook Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Fairfax Hills Senior Group in Raleigh.
Surviving are: her husband, of 56 years, Doyle Wayne Sims of Raleigh; a daughter, Janata Sims of Raleigh; a son, Mark Sims of Hawaii and wife, Victoria; a sister-in-law, Betty Sims of Raleigh; and many nephews and nieces.
Family will receive friends 9-10AM Tuesday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, where funeral services will follow at 10 AM. Reverend Andrea Jones will officiate.
