

Edward Abraham Feiner, 92, of Raleigh, passed away on February 26, 2016, surrounded by his family, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. He was born October 4, 1923, in the Bronx, NY, to the late Benjamin and Manya Feiner.
Ed joined the U.S. Army upon graduating from High School and served his country while stationed in Greenland during WW II. After his service, Ed attended Long Island University. In his youth, Ed was an aspiring composer and attended Julliard School of Music, publishing several songs, his favorite was “I’ve got my mind on you” sung by Billy Eckstein .
In 1953, Ed moved from NY to Durham and worked for New York Life Insurance and then later in life as a stock broker. He was also a founding member of Beth El Synagogue in Durham.
He was active in theater and was a long time high school football referee which he loved with a passion. After moving to Raleigh, his passion became the NCSU Wolfpack and was a long standing member of the Wolfpack Club, never missing a game whether it was football or basketball.
He was always there for his kids and family when they needed him.
Surviving is the love of his life, his wife, Theresa Feiner, and daughter Debbie Barban of Cape Charles Virginia, son David Feiner of Raleigh, NC, daughter Cathy Lockwood of Raleigh, NC, and stepdaughter Kenie Wrenn of Raleigh, NC, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Ed’s family would like to give heartfelt thanks to hospice for their loving care in his time of need and for any others blessed to be there in their final days.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at Raleigh Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh NC 27612.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Duke Hospice, Hock Family Pavilion, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Durham, NC 27704.
