

Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather
Ed was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, the only child of Willie Ottoway Timberlake and Beulah Kidd Timberlake. He won a full scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania where he attended the Wharton School of Business, majoring in Economics.
After graduation he served his country in the US Coast Guard. He was stationed in the San Francisco Bay area where he met his wife, Maria.
Ed and Maria were married for 68 years. This New Year's Eve would have been their 69th wedding anniversary. They raised three children and had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ed worked for IBM for 35 years, starting with typewriter sales before moving to computers and business systems such as an investment brokerage terminal and early barcode scanning systems. He worked in product development, market planning, and management.
After years of attending Mass and singing in Saint Raphael's Choir, he converted to catholicism. He later enjoyed singing in the choral group at Magnolia Glen.
In his younger years he was an avid sailor and enjoyed riding motorcycles and tinkering in his shop. In his later years he enjoyed bike riding, kayaking, golf, and volunteer work. He was Habitat for Humanity's Volunteer of the year in 1994. He always enjoyed reading and had recently started writing with a group at Magnolia Glen.
Ed valued his family and his faith. He had a strong work ethic and belief in lifelong learning.
He is survived by his wife Maria Torres Timberlake, Children: Edith Timberlake Davis, Rebecca Timberlake Taylor and Edward Lee Timberlake, Jr. (Laurie). Grandchildren: Lt. Hunter Cole Davis, Kristen Allene Taylor Puryear (Charles), Matthew Ottoway Outlaw Timberlake, Elias Henry Timberlake, Milo Kidd Timberlake, and Edward Maximilian Timberlake. Great-grandchildren: Charles Edward Puryear III, Taylor Alexander Puryear, and Jackson Anthony Puryear.
In lieu of flowers, honorary contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 30th, 2024 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church
