Elma Giddens Baker

She is survived by her children, Andrew Harold Baker, III and his wife Rachel of Winston Salem, NC, Anita Baker Powell of Smithfield, NC, Beverly Baker Kennedy of Clayton, NC and Arthur Neil Baker of Emerald Isle, NC. Along with her children, Mrs. Baker is survived by two sisters, Donna Thornton of Hartwell, GA, Joanne King of Raleigh, NC, sister in law Carolyn Baker and brother in law Aubrey Baker of Raleigh, NC. Also surviving are several beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of which she loved immeasurably and always brought a smile to her face.

She also leaves behind her dog Lily, which she considered a fifth child and loving companion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Harold Baker, Jr. as well as her parents, Arthur and Inez Taylor Giddens, her sister Gail Porter, her brother Don Hewitt and her stepmother, Dorothy Giddens.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7600 ACC Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27617. The family will briefly receive friends graveside prior to and after the service.
