Eric Carlton Davis

Eric was born November 23, 1939 in Johnston County NC, to the late Eric Shelton and Esker Narron Davis.

He retired from the U. S. Postal Service, after 30 years of service, in Cary, NC. Eric enjoyed drinking coffee, telling jokes and meeting people. He never met a stranger. Eric was a devoted caregiver to his family, preferring to serve others than himself. His favorite bible verse was Luke 9:61 “No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God”.

Eric was a faithful and dedicated husband to his wife of 33 years, Mae Davis whom preceded him in death Feb 26, 1993.

He is survived by his 5 children; Greg Davis of Apex, NC, Michelle Davis of Clayton, NC, Kevin Davis of Moncure, NC, Melissa Davis of Raleigh, NC, and Chris Davis of Holly Springs, NC; and his 8 grandchildren.

His family will receive friends Thursday January 31, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609. Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
