Evelyn Marie Sellers Sellers Lyons

Evelyn was born October 22, 1936 in Rocky Mount, NC to Willie P. and Cleo Rose Sellers. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend. Evelyn was an active member of St. James United Methodist Church and dedicated much of her time serving on the Alter Guild.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Garnet “Gary” C. Lyons; daughter, Pamela Lyons Sheets and husband, Tony of Fuquay Varina, NC; sons, Tony Lyons, and wife Diane of Morrisville, NC; Kenneth Douglas Lyons of New York, NY; sisters, Carol Brinkley of Nashville, TN; and Peggy Ruth Austin of Four Oaks, NC; grandchildren, Janna and Jay Sheets; Ethan and Cameron Lyons; and niece, Deborah Allsbrook.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at St. James United Methodist Church, 3808 St. James Church Road. Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at St. James Church in Carson Hall.

Entombment will follow the service in the Mausoleum Chapel at Raleigh Memorial Park.
