Grady Lynn Jeffreys

Grady Lynn Jeffreys, 70, passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Savior, in his home, after a short illness, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Grady was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He was preceeded in death by parents, Clarence and Margaret Jeffreys; and brother, Richard Jeffreys, all of NC.

He is survived by the love of his life of forty-seven years, Debbie Jeffreys; children: Matthew Jeffreys (Charlotte) of NC, Benjamin Jeffreys (Corey) of NC, Joshua Jeffreys (Margaret) of NC; siblings: Jimmy Jeffreys (Lois) of FL, Linda Carpenter (Larry) of TN, Jane Young (Sammy) of NC; and sister-in-law: Susie Jeffreys of NC. He is also survived by his two grandsons, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, who he loved dearly.

Grady was born to Clarence and Margaret Jeffreys in Raleigh, NC and grew up on Perry Street. He graduated from Broughton High School in 1971, before attending Wake Tech. Grady began a forty-five year career with ITT/Mackay Communications. He served as a Technical Specialist, working with radio and satellite communication systems. In this role, he traveled to over forty-five countries.

He was very active in North Ridge Bible Chapel, where he served as Treasurer and on the Building and Grounds Committee. He loved to travel and enjoyed learning about new countries and their cultures. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, especially his two grandsons, Noel and Alban, who loved their grandpa. He touched so many people with his kindness and willingness to help, which is a testament to the kind of man he was. He never met a stranger.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at North Ridge Bible Chapel, 7100 Harps Mill Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. A short reception will follow at the chapel. A private graveside service for the family at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens will follow.
