Ruby,
I just ran across the newspaper clipping of Horace's obituary.  A favorite memory it brought to mind was the neighborhood wine-tasting you hosted.  Horace was so gracious to those of us who knew nothing on the subject, putting us at ease, simply sharing his knowledge, appreciation, and collection!
I apologize for my tardiness but trust you are well. 
The KW neighborhood remains much the same, with some names and faces you would recognize, but with a pleasant group of young families.

Dear Ruby and family
I'm so sorry to hear of Horace's passing. I met Horace in 1978 at IBM. We have been friends ever since. I always admired his great sense of humor, his quick wit and positive attitude. Horace was a beacon of light that always brightened your day. 
I will miss him greatly but it sure was great to have known him. I hope what we have learned from Horace will see us through this sorrowful time.

Ruby, Larry, Ruthie and families, 
I was very sorry to hear about Horace's passing.   I know you have the comfort knowing Horace is in the presence of God.   My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

My thoughts and prayers to the extended family of one fine man. My years at Heights with him, and in Tower barracks, were too short, but his friendliness, intelligence, loyalty, perseverance and strength obviously remained with him. All of us were, indeed, fortunate to know him.

Gayle and I send our deepest sympathy and prayers with the passing of Horace. I was so fortunate almost 60 years ago when fate put us together as roommates. I could not have had a better friend and counselor. He was such a strong and gentle soul. I will miss our chats, but take comfort that he is with our Lord and Savior and free of pain and suffering.

I have lost a great friend from Castle Heights. I will always remember Horace with that smile like on the attached picture.  My condolences go to his family. He set a great example for all of us to live by;

We were saddened to get word of Uncle Horace's unexpected passing. He was a wonderful man, and we all enjoyed visiting with him when he and Aunt Ruby came back to IL. We will miss him, but are sure that he is enjoying his heavenly reward.
