

Jim was proud of his country and his service in the United States Army. After the military he went to work building batteries and retired as a supervisor. Jim was especially proud to have his name on the batteries that went to the first Apollo moon landing in 1967. Years after Jim’s retirement he became security liaison for Bristol Myer.
Jim is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mabel Grey Parker Beaty, his son Robert Stanford “Stan” Beaty, his daughter Rebecca “Becky” Lynne Beaty all of Raleigh, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents James was predeceased by his sister, Clara Douglass and a niece.
A funeral service for Jim will be held Wednesday, October 20th, 2010 at New Hope Baptist Church, 4301 Louisburg Rd. Raleigh, NC 27604, at 2:00 PM, with Dr. Richard Childress officiating. A visitation will take place prior to the service in Church Parlor at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow the service at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612.
