Janet Goss Lloyd

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Goss Lloyd of Raleigh, on November 30, 2025, at the age of 90. Janet was born on March 5, 1935, the oldest of seven children born to Robert and Ruth Goss in rural Wake County, North Carolina. She graduated from Garner High School in 1953.

A devoted wife and mother, Janet was known for her radiant smile and love for her church and family, which was her greatest passion. She raised three children and later worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for Wake County schools for 32 years.

Janet enjoyed her church activities twice on Sunday, followed by Wednesday night dinners. Her family will remember her for her love of Jesus and ability to make everyone smile.

Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dallas, of 59 years. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Felton Goss and Bennie Goss.

Janet is survived by her sisters and brother, Judy Keelor (Dave), Jean Young, Reuben Goss (Carolyn), and Sue Hodge (Tommy). She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lloyd Phillips (Andrew), daughter Barbara Lloyd Walsh (Grady), son, David Lloyd (Donna) and her grandchildren, Liam Phillips, Allison Huurneman (Dave), Daniel Walsh, Carrie Beth Nicklow (Ethan), Timothy Lloyd (Brittany), and Patrick Lloyd and her great-grandchildren, Nora Huurneman and Rhys Lloyd.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., on December 4, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh. A burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh.
