Jean Eaton

Jean McHarney Eaton, daughter of Lucy Paul McHarney and Charles L. McHarney was born on January 19th, 1928, and died on May 29th, 2021. In addition to her mother, father, and special uncle Grover B. Paul, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harry H. Eaton, her brother Charles, her sisters Lucy Williams, Harriet Warren, Dot Harris, and Sarah Muir, Lelia Eury, and her daughter-in-law Linda Eaton. She is survived by sons Howard Eaton and Warren Eaton (Kathy), grandchildren Ashley Benson (Bill), Carmen D'Amelio (Michael), and Nicholas Eaton, great-grandchildren Max, Finn, Vaughn, Ross, and Aubrey, and step-great-grandchildren William and Samantha.

Jean loved her family. They were the joy of her life along with her many nieces and nephews. She liked reading, the beach, and visiting with her many friends and extended family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, unconditional love, contagious smile, and laughter.

The family wants to thank the staff of the Rosewood Health Center at Cypress of Raleigh and Heartland Hospice for the loving care and support she received. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Heartland Hospice, Greenwood Forest Baptist Church of Cary, or the charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends at Brown Wynne Funeral home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC on Thursday, June 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The celebration of her life will be held graveside at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7600 ACC Blvd, Raleigh, NC on Friday, June 4th at 11:00 AM.
