Joyce Lee Correll

Mrs. Joyce Lee Davis Correll, 93, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Springmoor Lifecare Retirement Center. Born on May 23, 1931 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Richard and Ella Davis, Joyce later became a longtime resident of Raleigh. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William H. (Bill) Correll.

Joyce is survived by her children, son Alan and wife Sherry Correll of Atlantic Beach; son Vic Correll of Raleigh; son Curtis and wife Ann Correll of Fort Mill, SC; and daughter Andrea Correll of Raleigh; her grandchildren Katie (David) Britt of Tampa, Florida, William (Elle) Correll of Richmond, Virginia, Curt (Rebekah) Correll of Charlotte, Seth (Giorgia) Correll of Charlotte, Erin Hicks of New York and Ian Hicks of Boston. She was preceded in death by her grandson Alex Correll of Washington, NC.

Joyce graduated from the University of Delaware in 1953 where she majored in psychology. She received her master’s degree in art education from NCSU in 1979. Joyce worked as the Docent Coordinator at the NC Art Museum in Raleigh for 14 years.

Joyce had a passion for reading and art. She loved to travel with her husband Bill.

A memorial service will be held at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church at 1801 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh on Thursday January 9th at 11am. A private interment will be held immediately following the service.
