Karen Messina nee Fischer, born Philadelphia 1953 has passed on to the next life after a short illness. Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose main mission in life was to help others before herself.
Karen lived in Pine Beach NJ until moving to Raleigh in 1995.
Karen worked at Pathmark Stores in New Jersey for 14 years before becoming a stay at home mom for our 2 children. She also ran an in-home daycare for many children over the years.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Chuck Messina, and her children, Kiersten and Andrew. She is also survived by her granddaughter Ellie Rose and brother Chuck Fischer and his wife Ruth. She will be sorely missed by many friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends at our home at 10801 September Ct., Raleigh on Friday, November 1st and Saturday November 2nd between 6 and 8 PM.
Karen was an avid animal lover and in lieu of flowers a donation to an animal charity of your choice in her name would be a great alternative.
