

Kesano Bisset, 90 years old, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away peacefully in her home surrounded with family by her side on Saturday afternoon, March 9, 2024, following a very valiant and courageous battle with cancer.
Kesano “Kay” was born in Miyagi-ken, Japan on January 7, 1934. She was married to Raymond E. Bisset on June 12, 1956; they were married 57 years. Kay is survived by her children Raymond E. Bisset, Jr., Sonna J. Greene & husband, Dave, and children, David, Tamara and husband, Richard Beard; Richard D. Bisset & wife, Amy, and children, Richie and Rachel, all of Raleigh, NC; and Thomas D. Bisset & wife, Jennifer, and children Kaylee and Madison of Oceanside, CA; her sister, Sadako and other family and friends. Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Bisset, her father Taneto and mother Kikue, brothers Keigi and Keigo, and her sisters Masako, Aiko, and Yoko.
Kay was a wonderful wife and a stay-at-home mom. When her children were in high school, she decided to learn and perfect her skills as a dog groomer which she did as an entrepreneur for over 15 years. Once retired, Kay took up painting with acrylics and developed a passion for her work. Kay’s artwork was entered into the Senior Games where she took home several first-place medals. She was actively involved with the Senior Friends in Raleigh, where she made many wonderful friends. She enjoyed her many lunches with her group of Japanese friends. Kay was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great friend to many that knew her. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were very dear to her and there was never a day that passed she wasn’t doing something to help and bring happiness into their lives. She will truly be missed.

A celebration of life for Kesano will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
