

Kevin Michael Wood, 44, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on December 14, 2025, in Raleigh, NC.
Kevin was born April 4, 1981, in Poughkeepsie, NY, to Debra and Robert Wood. The family moved to Cary, North Carolina, in 1995. Kevin graduated from Apex High School in 2000. Kevin went on to obtain an associate's degree in Automotive Technology at Wayne Community College. He then embarked on a career as an automotive technician.
Kevin married Christie Anne Stancil of Raleigh in November 2010 and settled in Raleigh. The couple started their family in September 2012 when they welcomed their daughter, Sarah Kate Wood. Kevin was a devoted husband, father, fur dad, family man, and friend to many.
Kevin was a hard worker all his life. He had a passion for cars and achieved master technician status. He worked for several car dealerships for 25 years. Friends and family alike came to rely on Kevin’s automotive superpowers when buying, selling, or maintaining their cars. He was gifted in many other areas and was nicknamed "MacGyver" because he could fix anything, build anything, and make anything. In November 2023, Kevin achieved another major milestone in his career by opening his own automotive repair shop, Oak City Car Care, in Raleigh. Throughout his career, he had dreamed of owning his own shop and achieved that dream. He was beloved and trusted by his customers for his dedication and honesty.
Throughout his life, Kevin enjoyed playing sports, traveling, beach and lake trips with jet skiing and boating, racing RC Cars, rebuilding vintage cars, growing bonsai trees, video game playing, woodworking, going to concerts, anything and everything Fast and Furious, and spending time with loved ones.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Christie Wood of Raleigh, daughter Sarah Kate Wood of Raleigh, parents Robert and Debra Wood of Cary, brother Jason Wood (Michele) of Cary, and 5 nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation for Kevin will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 4-6 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
A funeral service will occur Sunday, January 4, 2026, starting at 2:30 PM at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 4801 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. A graveside service will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
