

She had been a professional artist since 1968, illustrated five books written by her husband and several more by other authors. She was a craft instructor at local assisted living and retirement facilities and at Michael's Craft Store. She was an active member of the YWCA and the YMCA. In Elizabeth City, prior to moving to Raleigh, she participated in civic activities.
Born in Harrisburg, PA, raised in Norfolk, VA, she was a graduate of Maury High School and the currently named Ambler Campus of Temple University. Her survivors include daughter, Judith Elizabeth "Liz" Aulis of Raleigh, grandson, Michael Aulis-Hill, his wife Ingeborg Krautz of Knightdale.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Sjogren's Foundation, www.sjogrens.com.
