Mary Ellen Stack-Ponek

Mary Ellen Stack-Ponek, 76, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on May 9, 2016. She was born on January 20, 1940 in Jersey City, NJ, the daughter of the late Denis Stack and Mary Ann Benford Stack. In addition to her parents, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her son, Karl H. Magenheimer and brother, Dennis Stack. She is survived by her husband, Edward T. Ponek; children, Debra Henderson, Joseph P. Magenheimer, Sandra Lee Ponek, Randi Sue Ponek, E. Scott Ponek, G. Vincent Henderson, Lena Magenheimer, Steve Cheek, and Angel Marronan; grandchildren, Sabrina McLeod, CoreyAnn Magenheimer, Jason V. Henderson, Amanda Magenheimer, Danielle A. Henderson, Michael K. Magenheimer, Ashley Magenheimer, Jasmine Magenheimer, Qing Qing Ponek, Julia Ponek, and Alex Ponek; great grandchildren, Jesse, Skylar, Jordan, and Sarah; siblings, Robert Stack and Joan P. Stack Kontowt; sisters-in-law, Rose Stack and Kathleen Ogle Stack; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. The family will receive friends immediately afterward.
