Millie Grey Fowler

Millie Grey Fowler, 83, of Raleigh, NC, died Monday, April 11, 2022 at Hillcrest of Raleigh. While there she received wonderful compassionate care and benefited from the loving staff who happily became her extended family.

Millie was born in Wake County, NC to the late Lennie Drew Fowler and Rosaline Howard Fowler. She was a graduate of Needham Broughton High School and was employed with the State Employee's Credit Union retiring with over 48 years of service.

Millie loved laughter, books and discovering new things. She loved meeting new people, maintaining good neighbors and spending time with children she lovingly befriended.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Covington Creech; son-in-law, Joel Creech; brother, James "Jimmy" Fowler; and sister, Patricia Fowler.

Millie is survived by her daughters, Allison Manchester (Rob), and Betsy Covington; sisters, Mary Holloway, Clara Underwood, and Sherry Ross (Leon); seven grandchildren, Brian Creech (Ida), Patrick Creech (Shauna), Michael Creech, Jenny McAllister (Robert), Rachel Manchester, Kayla Mikolajewski, and Madeline Mikolajewski; four great grandchildren, August Creech, Holland Creech, Raegan Creech, and Abby McAllister.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11am in the Wynne Center of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
