

Patricia Anne Dickerson Hill of Raleigh, age 78, died November 29, 2014 following complications from Parkinson’s disease. She was the daughter of Lucy Wheeler Dickerson and Joseph Hubert Dickerson and was born in Granville County on July 23, 1936. She attended East Carolina University, where she met her former husband Milford P. Hill. They lived in Winston-Salem, Kinston, and Goldsboro before settling in Raleigh in 1965.
Pat worked at CP&L, then was a homemaker for many years. She began a career with Dept. of Community Colleges in the 1970’s, retiring in 2002. Pat also worked part-time at Golden Corral Corporation for 30 years. She was a dedicated employee and really enjoyed her work and her work relationships. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities. She particularly loved the lifelong relationships formed in the Couples Sunday School Class. She loved her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Pat is survived by her children, Lisa H. Mooneyham and her husband Scott, Joe Hill and his wife Cheryl; grandchildren Kelly and Erin Mooneyham, and Rachel and Jacob Hill, all of Raleigh; two sisters, Janet D. Hughes and husband Phillip of Cincinnati, OH, and Alma D. Barker and husband Ben, of Mint Hill, NC. She is also survived by many loved cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as many members of her former husband’s family, whom she loved.
A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 2pm at First Baptist Church, 99 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, 27603. A reception will follow in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community Endowment Fund, 1500 Sawmill Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.
