Patsy Carol Stancil

December 29, 1940 –February 10, 2018

A beautiful lady, inside and out, was she. And to her loving husband, daughter, son-in-law, brothers, other family members, and many friends, she still is. For the many memories they shared will live on forever.

Patsy Stancil of Raleigh passed away suddenly on February 10, 2018 at home. She is survived by the love of her life, husband of 55 years, Jack Stancil; daughter Loree S. Brown (Scott) of Raleigh; brothers Bruce Hamm (Geraldine) of Maury, Steve Hamm of Snow Hill; a nephew, a niece, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Pattie Hamm.

Patsy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her church family at Christ Baptist Church. She and Jack treasured their time spent at their home on the coast, as well as their travels to new locations. Patsy loved flowers and plants as is evident in their beautiful yards. Always a lover of cats, Patsy, with Jack's blessing, recently adopted a homeless cat named Suzy Q. What proud parents and what a lucky feline. At the top of her list of favorite pastimes was shopping with her lady friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Christ Baptist Church, 400 Newton Road, Raleigh, NC, 27615. Visitation with family will be held an hour prior to the service 10-11 AM in the church. A private burial will take place Wednesday, February 14, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Baptist Church or to a charity of one's choice.
