Scott Peter Boyd

Raleigh, NC – Scott Peter Boyd, age 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025 at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Scott was a beloved brother, son, uncle and friend. He was surrounded by his loving family leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor and generosity.

Scott was born March 17, 1964, in Teaneck, NJ, and grew up in Park Ridge, NJ. He graduated from Park Ridge High School, class of 1982 and was a member of the varsity wrestling team. Scott was employed at Palmer Donavin (formerly Diamond Hill Plywood) and was devoted to his job for over 12 years.

Throughout his life Scott was known for being a kind soul, his dry sense of humor, his artistic creativity and love of sports, reading, trivia, and IPAs.

Scott is survived by his siblings Jeff Boyd (Janet), Cathy Boyd, and Kevin Stockdale (Maureen) along with his nephews Jeffrey Boyd, Corey Boyd, Matthew Boyd, Luke Stockdale and niece Madison Stockdale and many loving family members. Scott was preceded in death by his parents John and Diane Stockdale.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held at Browne-Wynne Funeral Home at 117 East Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609. Visitation hours will be from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, October 11th.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice or the NY Mets in the hopes that someday they will win another World Series.

The world lost a kind and wonderful soul; he will be greatly missed.
