Susan Phyllis Gott of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Boynton Beach, FL and Staten Island, NY died on Monday, August 2, 2021 after living many years with Alzheimer’s. She is the widower of Murray Gott with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. In addition to caring for her family, Susan was involved with the Second District Dental Society in New York, where she promoted good dental health in the schools. In addition, Susan was committed to many other volunteer organizations in the New York area. As a result of all of her hard work and dedication to the community Susan was honored with the Women of Achievement award from The Staten Island Advance. This high accolade honors local women who have gone above and beyond in volunteer work.
When Susan moved to Boynton Beach, she continued to be an avid golfer and tennis player. She also enjoyed traveling the world with her many friends and family. She had a passion for gardening which led her to study and achieve her Master Gardener certification. Susan also had a love for knitting as well as going out to dinner and the movies with friends and family.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Gott and his wife, Edythe of Wake Forest, NC and her daughter, Karen Joyce and her husband, Matthew of Medfield, MA. She was a loving grandmother to Sarah, Emily, Rachel, Jessica, and Amy, all of Wake Forest, and Ashley and Thomas of Medfield.
Susan was predeceased by her brother, Bennett Kopp.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, August 6th at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
