Tai Phu Lam, 77, of Raleigh, passed away on July 26, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born in Vietnam, came to the United States as a refugee with two of his sons, and had come to love this country and called it home since.
Tai was hardworking, rising early to go to work and coming home late. He managed to find time to learn English, eventually became a U.S. citizen, and brought his wife and five other children from Vietnam to Raleigh. From then, his family has grown with three daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, and seven grandchildren whom he doted on with candies and toys.
Tai was easygoing, jovial, and friendly. He knew everyone in his neighborhood and was kind and hospitable to his elderly friends. He was also a favorite of the family’s Terrier and Shih Tzu.
Tai is loved and will be missed dearly by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Bao; daughters Nguyet, Souk, Lan, Phuong, and Trinh; sons Chenyung, Minh, Dave, Thieu, Thanh, Hung, and Hoang; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on July 30 (Wednesday) at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, North Carolina 27609.
