

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years Lorraine Wilson Jeffreys, brothers and their spouses Frank (Lib), Millard (Fannie Mae), Clarence (Margaret) , Raeford (Ruth), Randolph (Miriam), and sister Josephine Horton (Rufus). Also sister-in-law Betty Wilson Andrews (Mike) and stepmother-in-law Naner Wilson and nephews Steve Pipkin and Rufus “Buddy” Horton, Jr.
He is survived by his son Bennett “Ben” and wife Jerryln, grandsons Brian (Misty) of Virginia Beach, VA; Jerry (Amy) of Durham, great-grandsons Carson and Dylan. Sister-in-law Sarah Sawyer of Wilmington. “Special extended family” Alayna Burgess of Virginia Beach, Va. and Josh Reynolds of Knoxville, TN; plus many nieces and nephews who love and respected their Uncle.
Tommy accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior as a young man and was active at North Raleigh Chapel, North Ridge Bible Chapel and most recently Pittsboro Christian Assembly. He will be remembered by many of always standing at the front door as the “official greeter”.
He graduated from Wendell High School and was retired from General Foods Corporation.
Funeral arrangements by Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, service starting at 1:00 PM, Friday May 3, followed by visitation; interment will be at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens following visitation.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Pittsboro Christian Village for the love and kindness shown to “Mister Tommy” and also the UNC Hospice Team.
