Born Bobby "Bob" Gene Wallace to parents Gene and Reva Wallace, in Wellington, Texas on January 14, 1940, he was the eldest of 11 children. It is with profound sadness and gratitude that we graciously report that Bobby passed away peacefully at his home in Red Bluff, California, on October 25, 2025, at the age of 85.
Bob lived a full and joyful life centered around family, friendship, and many passions. With love in his heart, just two weeks after graduating from Red Bluff High School, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Rita E'von, on June 28, 1959- beginning a beautiful 67-year journey together, and what would become a love story admired by all who knew them. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Rita E'von Wallace; his four sons, Robert (Rob), Charles (Chuck), Randy (Kerry), and Timothy (Tim); his three sisters, Suzie Darden, Betty Fyfe and Linda Hoesche and one brother, Ronnie Wallace; his ten cherished grandchildren and fourteen deeply adored great-grandchildren.
After retiring as a Sheet rocker from the Bay Area, Bob enjoyed a lengthy and peaceful country life, appreciating the serenity that surrounded him, restoring classic cars, off-roading with his sons, lending his time to help others in Red Bluff's Search and Rescue team, and spending time with those he loved most. He was well known in the community for his love of all things "cars!" A competitive spirit, he loved racing anything with wheels, owned a racecar which he named "Papa's Ride", and was the starter for many years at the Redding Drag Strip, where he made many friendships and impressions.
Bob also had a deep love for country western movies and music and was never shy about hitting the dance floor with his beautiful wife. He was always sure to swoop her up, saving that last special dance just for her. With a larger-than-life, room commanding personality, he was the life of the party, charming and always ready with a joke, a helping hand, or a story to lift your spirits. His humor, kindness, and ability to bring a smile in tough situations touched everyone who knew him, and his memory will continue to bring joy and comfort to those of us that he left behind.
A celebration of life to honor, remember, and celebrate the life and legacy of Bob Wallace will be planned in the Spring of 2026.
