Doris Irene Foster

Doris Irene (Miller) Foster, age 95, passed away in Lebanon, Oregon, on December 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard (“Lenn”) Foster, her parents, two sisters, and one brother.Born on June 22, 1930, in Baldwin Park, California, Doris married Leonard Foster on June 28, 1947. In 1954, they moved to Red Bluff, California, where they raised their two young daughters. Doris dedicated many years to homemaking and found joy in sewing, cooking, playing the piano, singing, camping, and traveling to visit family across Oregon and California.

Doris was known for her beautiful voice, her passion for teaching God’s Word, and her faithfully devoted prayer life. She volunteered as Choir Director at Bethel Temple in Red Bluff for 19 years and played a key role in bringing the Singing Christmas Tree to life—a cherished tradition for the Red Bluff community. Over her lifetime of service, she taught Children’s Church and Adult Sunday School for more than 50 years, served as a 4-H Leader, Avon Lady, and House Mother for the Bethel Temple Rio Street Girls Home. She also served as President of the Christian Women’s Club and Aglow Ministries in Red Bluff, sharing leadership, encouragement, and faith with women throughout the community.

Doris is survived by her daughter Janice York and husband Dave of California; their three grown children, 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter Sharon Wills and husband Randy of Oregon; their two grown daughters, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Doris will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the Veterans Home of Lebanon, Oregon, and to Delta House and staff for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion shown to Doris during her residency.
