Jasson Raymond Standard died at the age of 42 in Cobb CA on September 19, 2012. Jasson was born in Grants Pass Oregon and grew up in Los Molinos CA. Jasson attended Los Molinos Elementary and graduated from Los Molinos High School in 1988. Jasson played football and basketball while at Los Molinos High. After high school Jasson moved to Los Angeles where he attended mortuary school. Jasson worked for the Zooks Mortuary after graduating and later moved back to Tehama County where he worked for Chapel of the Flowers and the Tehama County Coroner's Office as a Chief Deputy. Jasson later went on to travel and worked in Japan for a year as a Mortician. Jasson also worked briefly in Humboldt County and Hawaii as a Mortician. Jasson eventually applied to and was accepted into the California Highway Patrol Academy where he graduated and went to work in the San Jose office for several years. Jasson was working for the Highway Patrol when he was involved in an off duty motorcycle accident. Due to the accident Jasson was unable to continue working for the California Highway Patrol and had to retire from a job he loved.
Jasson had many friends who helped him during his recovery from the accident. Many of the California Highway Patrol Officers from the San Jose and Clear Lake Office often visited and made sure Jasson was doing well. These Officers kept his spirits high knowing he could not return to the job he loved doing. These Officers went above and beyond their calling in helping one of their own. Many of Jasson's non-law enforcement friends were also there for him whenever he needed them. Jasson was often on the phone to his friends about projects he had going or talking about guns.
Jasson enjoyed the outdoors whether it was riding quads, motorcycles, four wheeling, hunting, camping or whatever he could do outside. Jasson had accomplished many things in his life. One accomplishment he was very proud of, was running and completing a full marathon. Jasson recently was rebuilding his Suzuki Samurai and had just finished putting in a diesel engine. Jasson was very proud of what he had accomplished and often called his dad to talk about the project with him.
Jasson is survived by his parents Raymond and Lana Standard, his sister Gretchen Davidson and her spouse Richard, his two nephews Walker and Hunter Davidson, his Grandma Charlotte Standard Davis, his aunts and uncles Dr. Lowell and Janice Diller, James and Elie Standard, numerous cousins and a large extended family that loved and adored Jasson.
Jasson's humor and fun loving nature will be missed by all his family and friends.
A memorial to celebrate Jasson's life will be held at Bethel Assembly of God Church, 625 Luther Rd., Red Bluff CA on October 13, 2012 at 1 PM.
