

Lee Roy Gibson was born November 22, 1931 in Clovis, New Mexico to John and Clementine Gibson. He was the 5th of 8 children. He spent most of his childhood in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Tom Webb. He attended Ft. Sumner High School and played football among his many activities.
After high school he joined the Army where he spent most of his three years in the Philippine Islands. This is where he got his love of jeeps.
After leaving the Army he settled in Los Angeles where he met his ex-wife, Norma Holm and had son, Ronald.
In 1957 at Valley Jr College, he met his future wife of 63 years, Georgene. In 1960 they moved to Oroville, CA. where Lee worked for the Department of Water Resources on the Oroville Dam Project. They had two children, Michael and Kathryn. In 1966 they moved to Red Bluff, CA with the Department of Water Resources.
Lee's hobbies were restoring World War II jeeps and flying. He got his pilot's license and owned 2 planes over the years. He graduated from the LA Police Academy while in Los Angeles. He also was a member of the Oroville Police Reserves and Tehama County Sheriff's Reserve.
He loved being with his 6 grandchildren and seeing them grow into wonderful adults. He enjoyed being with his 3 great grandchildren and watching them grow.
He had a favorite saying when leaving so "bye bye and buy bonds"
