
LeRoy was born in 1934 in Reno, Nevada. He was the oldest of three boys born to Beryl and Marjorie La Vette. He grew up in Gardena, California where he met and married Marjorie Parker in 1953. He moved his family to Paradise, California in 1963 where he lived until 1978, when Cottonwood, California became his home.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in Southern California in 1953 and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1955. He was proud to be a Veteran of the Korean War era. In addition, he was a member of the Table Mountain Masonic Lodge #124, Paradise, California. He enjoyed being a member of the Elks Lodge #1250 in Red Bluff.
He worked as an Electrician, through IBEW unions in Northern California and the Bay Area. He retired at age 63 and enjoyed traveling, often to Arizona and parts of Oregon. Fishing was a fun hobby he enjoyed along with hunting, bowling, and archery in his younger years. He had a passion for owning and driving his Corvette.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Ilean La Vette, his parents Beryl and Marjorie La Vette, and his nephew Brian La Vette.
LeRoy is survived by his two daughters, Pamela Critichfield of Paradise, California and Teena La Vette of Rivesville, West Virginia. In addition, he is survived by his brother Lee La Vette, brother Barry La Vette (Barbara), four nieces and a nephew, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
LeRoy passed away on January 12, 2024 at the age of 89, in Red Bluff, CA, surrounded in love by his daughters, his brother and sister-in-law as he left his earthly bonds. There will be no public funeral services. His remains will be scattered by family, at a later date, adhering to his wishes. Donations to your local Hospice organization, in LeRoy's name, in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
