
Dennis Robert Flynn of Lakehead, California
Left this world in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 17, Year of Our Lord 2025, with the Blessings of the Church, and wearing his Brown Scapular.
Dennis was born on January 12, 1947, in San Francisco, California, to Robert Thomas Flynn and Mary Geraldine (Ravo) Flynn, He was 78 years old.
After graduation from Mission High School, Dennis entered the Sheet Metal Trade, in which he worked for over 41 years, the last 25 years with CMI ( Critchfield Mechanical, Inc) of San Jose, California.
With CMI he worked in Hawaii, New York, Georgia, And North Carolina, always taking his family with him in his adventures.
Dennis married Dolores Marguerita Eldridge in 1978, starting a family with two children who loved him as well. The couple had two more children together.
Dennis loved Houseboating on Lake Shasta, driving his Blue Sanger, and taking his family and friends out on the water. He moved to the Lake in 1984.
He loved playing golf with friends at local courses and when in Georgia had the opportunity to watch the Masters.
He enjoyed playing Pool with his friends at all the local places and will be remembered for opening his home and hosting Pool Nights when the world closed down in 2020.
He will be remembered also for his kindness, generosity, and great sense of humor, as well as his willingness to help his family and neighbors in any way he could. He was a talented craftsman and many have benefited from his skills and his joy in helping others when he could.
He practiced his Catholic Faith and passed his Faith to his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in Death by his parents Robert ‘Bob’ Flynn and Jerrie Flynn.
Dennis leaves behind Dolores, his wife of 47 years, his children and stepchildren, Regina Flynn, Robert Flynn, John Vines, Gloria Loyd, their spouses, 13 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and counting. He also precedes in Death his brother David Flynn, Sister-in-Law Kathy Flynn, and niece Jackie Flynn.
A Rosary will be held at 9:30 preceding a Requiem Mass at 10:00 at the McDonald’s Mortuary Chapel, 1201 Continental Street, Redding, CA 96001, on Monday, August 4, 2025. Burial will follow. Flowers may be sent to the Chapel.
