

Gene was born October 12, 1933 in Oklahoma, grew up in French Gulch and graduated from Shasta High School. Gene worked for Moty & VanDyke, Ben's Truck Repair and Schmitt Equipment.
Gene spent many years building winning race cars that were driven at numerous race tracks throughout Northern California. A sport that he was able to share with his son David.
Gene and Kate shared a passion for genealogy and took several trips across the United States where they were able to find many grave sites and birth places of their forefathers. He was able to find direct descendants from the American Revolution and Civil War. Gene created an amazing family tree for his family, working on it for more than 10 years and he registered that information with Ancestory.com.
Gene was a past President of the Sons of American Revolution, and a member of the Jamestown Society, Shasta Genealogical Society, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Moose Lodge, Shasta Historical Society and Turtle Bay.
gene leaves behind his wife, Kathryn Lang Twyman; Son David Twyman; Daughter-in-law Viki Twyman; Daughter Lynn Twyman; Son Marc Twyman; Step-daughter Vicky Furbee, husband Richard. He also leaves his brothers; Melvin and John. Gene had 6 grandchildren: Kevin Twyman, Kristen Twyman, Melissa Furbee and her husband Craig Calvin. Brian Pelton, Tracey Schaeffer and her husband Matt, Jennifer Bettes and her husband Shane; and 4 great grandchildren: Mason Bettes, Adrian Pierce, Emma Calvin Furbee and Kieran Calvin Furbee.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife Annbelle; parents, Milburn (Jake) and Opal Twyman, and his sisters, Pat and Wanda.
