

George Ellis Coulter
George Ellis Coulter, 63, of Redding, passed away Sunday,
November 20, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Redding Ca. George
was a native of Hamburg Arkansas where he lived for 20 years. He
graduated from Hamburg High School in 1971. He then moved to
Redding, Ca where he lived for the last 43 years. He worked at
Simpson Paper Co for 28 years then as a Substance Abuse Counselor
for the last few years; working at Cornerstone Rehab Center, Cascade Circle,
and he was the manager of Homeward Bound, a transition house for men
recovering from substance abuse. He was also a reserve officer for the
Anderson Police Department from 1977-1983. He accepted Jesus as his
personal Savior at the age of 14 and was faithful to serve his Lord and the
church until the end of his life. Among other positions, he served as a deacon
at Beacon Missionary Baptist Church for the last 39 years.
He was preceded in death by his Dad, Bob Coulter; Step-Mother Shelley Coulter
and Step-Dad Bennie Rosen.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Coulter; his Mother Mary Rosen;
two sons, Michael and wife Donna of Weaverville Ca; David and wife Rachelle of
Dixon Ca; one daughter Rebekah Scheer and husband Dan of Oroville Ca;. two
sisters; Kelley McBride of Redding Ca and Carrie Burke(Shawn) of Washington.
He has ten grandchildren, Korson, Abriana, Jenay, Lauren, Emma, Benjamin,
Hannah, Ruth, Grace, and Sarah. Also many other family and friends that he loved
dearly!
A memorial service will be held for George on December 10th, 2016 at 11:00 am, at Beacon Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2170 Hartnell Ave in Redding, CA. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike Suite 300, Rockville MD 20852
