

Richard Leroy Pimentel was born December 9, 1919, to Joseph Enos Pimentel Sr. and Mary Gravance Pimentel, of Half Moon Bay, California. He passed away February 19, 2016 at home. He was preceded in death by his Parents; brother's Joe Jr. and John; and his sister, Dorothy Alves.
Richard was raised on ranches in Half Moon Bay, where his family raised artichokes and fava beans, and in San Gregorio, where his father was a blacksmith. He worked along side his brothers and his parents, beginning at a very early age. Eventually, he worked milking cows and trucking milk for the Bay Area's dairies. He also worked construction and owned and operated a dump truck. He joined the Teamsters Union and worked as a Teamster for around 40 years.
Richard bought property in Happy Valley in 1972 and built a home there in 1975. In 1984, he moved into a home on Irwin St. then to Mountain Shadows Mobile Home Park. He moved there to El Rio Estates in 1990. He made this his final home and he enjoyed his neighbors and the river, which flows nearby. He was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed fishing in the lakes and reservoirs of Northern California.
He leaves behind three step children: Jim Tripodes, and his wife Nham: Greg Tripodes, and his wife, Loretta; and Lori Stacey. He also leaves nieces, nephews and many cousins, as well as his long time companion and caregiver, Barbara Frisbie.
Richard Pimentel was known as a kind, generous, very calm man. He loved deeply and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all the people whose lives he touched. He will be recalled as a truly good man.
There will be a viewing at McDonald's Chapel on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 1-4pm then there will be a graveside service at Alta Mesa Memorial Park
in Palo Alto, California on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 1:00 pm
