

Steven Youngman, 69, of Redding passed away on July 6, 2016 in the presence of his family at home. He was born in Seattle, WA on January 5, 1947. He was the oldest of three children to Marshall and Mary Youngman. His family moved to Southern California and he graduated from Orange High School in 1965. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Once discharged he married Joannie Sears and had three sons. He purchased his first truck in 1973 and began hauling refrigerated products. In 1977 he moved his family to Redding. Once established in Redding he and Bill Jordan expanded his business to 20 trucks and specialized in hauling produce on the west coast. In 1992 he married Coleen Gomer and had his fourth son. One of Steve's favorite past times was spent with family and friends house boating, camping and skiing on Shasta Lake. He is survived by his mother Mary of Redding. Brothers Gary of Redding and Rod (wife Cindy) of Virginia. He was a loving father to four sons, Bryan (wife Jill) of Washington, Josh, Jake and Matthew of Redding. He was a proud grandfather of seven grandchildren Dakota, Hannah, Justin, Abree, Bronson, Wyatt and Mila. He has one great granddaughter Kendall. He was preceded in death by his father Marshall. He will always be remembered for his work ethic and dedication to his drivers. His commitment and love to his family will be cherished and passed along for many generations to come. A viewing will be held Saturday, July 16th 10 AM to 2 PM at McDonald's Chapel in Redding.Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 17th at 10 AM at McDonald's Chapel in Redding.
