

Ann Saunders Ragland, 80, of Quinton, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017. She retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. Ann also played the organ for various churches, most recently, Varina Episcopal Church and worked at the Williamsburg Antique Mall. She was a member of Four Mile Creek Baptist Church. Ann was happiest when she was quilting or working in the flower beds. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Louise Saunders. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Hugh Ragland; children, Robin Gallahan (Roger), Floyd Walls, Sandy Rutledge (John), Jenny Stewart, Beth Dalton (Bill) and Kelly Ragland (Diane); grandchildren, Amy, Stacy, Logan, Cory, Evan and Annie; great-grandchildren, Ali, Haiden and Camden; and brothers, Billy Saunders (Alma) and Benny Saunders (Helen). The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 18, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. A service will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, 2950 New Market Rd., Henrico, Va. 23231, with interment to follow in Laurel Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
